About the Position
At this globally leading player in electron microscopy, you will have a broad technical role where you work with advanced instrumentation for customers across the Nordic region. The team you will be a part of consists of highly skilled technicians, many of whom have extensive experience and expertise in areas such as mechatronics, physics, and chemistry. The role involves close collaboration with users who themselves have a high technical level, which requires both your communicative and technical abilities. You will work generally rather than in a niche, and be involved in the entire chain from installation to field support. This is a role for you who enjoys deep technical work and meeting customers.
Your Future Responsibilities The position entails a general technician responsibility where you work hands-on with high-tech equipment, encounter high-tech customer environments, and drive your own assignments in the field. For example, you will:
- Install, configure, and commission advanced electron microscopes.
- Troubleshoot and rectify faults in mechanical, electronic, and software-related components.
- Maintain and upgrade customer equipment.
- Conduct user training and create technical documentation as needed.
- Work independently with customer contact where you build trust and credibility.
- Plan and execute travels, primarily within the Nordic region but also internationally as needed.
We are looking for someone who
- Has a technical educational background, such as a technical engineer with several years of experience in electronics service, a bachelor's or master's degree in physics/chemistry/mechatronics, or a PhD with a hands-on focus.
- Has worked with more than just cars, where you understand instrumentation technology in practice, preferably related to research or laboratory environments.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written, including technical communication via email and documentation.
- Speaks and writes a Nordic language (Swedish, Norwegian, or Danish), which facilitates contacts across the region.
- Is comfortable traveling at least 70 nights per year and can handle unforeseen changes in the schedule.
Meritorious:
- Previous experience working with electron microscopy or similar instruments.
- Experience in building long-term relationships in specialist environments.
As a person, you are solution-oriented and responsible. You enjoy diving into complex technical environments, solving problems directly or together with others, and have the ability to communicate clearly with knowledgeable users. You are flexible and can work in a dynamic everyday life where the nature and scope of assignments can vary.
Additional Information Start: By agreement (recruitment begins before the end of the year, start in April/May) Workplace: Based in Stockholm, Gothenburg, or Malmö. Offices are located in Stockholm.
